About Me

I'm Lisa And I'm Kind Of New To Blogging...
But Not New To Living

For most of my life, I’ve been someone who kept moving.

Building a career. Raising a family. Showing up for others. Solving problems. Managing responsibilities. Carrying what needed to be carried and doing my best to do it well.

From the outside, life often looked steady. Productive. Capable. And in many ways, it was.

But somewhere along the way, I realized how many thoughts I had spent years pushing aside in the name of “getting through” life instead of fully experiencing it. Questions about identity, confidence, growth, healing, change, purpose, and what it means to become comfortable in your own skin after decades of trying to meet expectations—both real and imagined.

That realization became the beginning of something quieter, but far more important.

Writing

Not as performance. Not as expertise. Not because I have all the answers. But because writing became a way to understand myself more honestly.

Hello There!

I'm Lisa!

I created 52 Thoughts as a space to reflect more honestly on life, growth, work, relationships, and the thoughts we often carry quietly.

After more than twenty years in IT and marketing, alongside raising a family and navigating my own seasons of change, I found myself wanting a place to slow down, write, and better understand what I was learning along the way.

These posts are not about having all the answers. They’re simply reflections shaped by lived experience—offered in the hope that someone else might feel a little more seen, understood, or less alone.

One thought at a time. One week at a time.

Experiences

Mom. IT Professional. Entrepreneur. And now... Blogger.

I’ve spent more than twenty years working professionally in IT and marketing—industries built around structure, strategy, communication, and solving problems. I’m also a mother of two teenagers, a marathon runner, a lifelong learner, and someone who has experienced both challenge and growth in ways that shaped me deeply, even if not always visibly.

Like many women, I became very good at functioning while quietly carrying things underneath the surface.

Over time, I started realizing that strength isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about slowing down long enough to hear your own thoughts clearly. Sometimes it’s about finally giving yourself permission to evolve. Sometimes it’s simply about acknowledging that you are worthy of the same compassion you so freely give to others.

That’s where 52 Thoughts came from.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that people don’t need perfection from one another.

  • They need honesty.
  • They need connection.
  • They need reminders that they are not alone in what they’re carrying or questioning or becoming.

If something here resonates with you, I’m glad you found your way here.

And if you’re still figuring things out too—welcome.

So am I.

A weekly Practice

Some posts are longer and more reflective. Others are short observations written in the middle of a moment that felt worth capturing before it disappeared.

A Reflective Place

They are simply honest perspectives worth holding onto.

None of them are meant to be preachy, polished to perfection, or positioned as life advice.

A Collection of Perspectives

Shaped by real life—work, family, relationships, growth, setbacks, resilience, transition, and the everyday moments that often carry more meaning than we realize at the time.

Highlighted Story

Belonging — what does this mean to you?

For me, this has evolved into being seen and heard.

It means accepting myself as human, someone with a mixture of strengths, flaws, emotions, experiences, and personality traits, and allowing myself to simply BE me. Vulnerable, authentic, growing, and imperfect. It also means creating space for others to do the same.

One of the gifts of time is the ability to reflect on the choices my husband David and I have made, and how our understanding of belonging changes throughout life, from childhood, to young adulthood, to motherhood and beyond.

Along the way there have been lessons, cycles, successes, and moments that were far more difficult than expected.

Lifelong Learning and Growth

Over the past few years, I’ve intentionally invested in personal growth, professional reinvention, and exploring what’s possible in new seasons of life. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from organizations, programs, and experiences that challenged me to think differently, build confidence, and continue evolving—both personally and professionally.

From entrepreneurship and career transition programs to hands-on experience launching new ideas and working behind the scenes in strategy and digital marketing, each step has helped shape the perspective I bring into my writing today.
